Well this year marks a brand new year for EVERYONE, hopefully no ones dies near december on a certain date. ;)

All jokes aside, I’m frankly impressed there are still readers to my blog! Thank you all for reading, your comments really support me! So I decided to make a decent post. I know I’m lacking as a blogger but hopefully my post will become more frequent, but I highly doubt they will be, but if anything  they’ll definitely will be more interesting at least. I plan to hopefully have a very ACTIVE and FUN year but at the same time extremely stressful.

So all those reading my blog for the first time, here’s some information about me, I’m a student at the college of engineering at Boston University, major : Biomedical Engineering. AKA THE HARD LIFE.

But I truly enjoy it, not that I’m a sadistic person by any means, but I enjoy learning, anything new is interesting to me!

Although my first semester wasn’t as great as I’d expect it to be (gpa wise) I know I can do better this semester…in harder classes. LOL

But enough about that, those reading my blog are either interested in; me, boston, boston university, or student life. So I want to grant a quick update to all those above.

Okay first things first, I discovered college water; red bull. LOL

Alright next, Boston University’s daunting ultimate challenge was of course FINALS WEEK DUN DUN DUN, I can seriously hear the cries from hell after going through that week!

Okay, maybe not the cries from hell but it was still extremely stressful especially the 24 hours before an exam I wanted to just throw myself off the Prudential Building and be satisfied with life like that. I especially wanted to throw myself off the very same building after my calc exam, and I all have to say, kiddos even if you talk AP calc (like I did) DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT SKIP 8 weeks of calc lectures XD bad foresight on my part but I passed! It wasn’t an A though, so going to those lectures would’ve helped greatly I assumed. Also unlike most students I am a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE studier, so what I’ve learnt is

THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER

With studying at least, if you want to study efficiently study with two others than yourself, no more no less. Here’s the logic here with two people you’ll distract each other, with the third, hopefully someone more serious you’ll be able to study as well. With more than 3 people you get what I got; a party. Instead of potentially studying like good college freshmen we played tetris for HOURS and went out to a sushi buffet (which I will talk more in debt about later, was delicious). It just became a room of fun, although that’s not bad for planned nonstudying fun times, it was really inefficient in studying, aka no studying .

Okay next topic of course would be the opposite of studying, partying!

I’m a bad student. I’ve gotten this thrill from partying, although I by no means endorse drinking in anyway or form, I just want to d-d-danceeeeeee (as said by David Guetta ft. Rihanna – Who’s that Chick)!

Going out on a friday night (and only on friday night’s when I’m not downed by homework) is a excellent way to destress the stress I’ve accumulated over the week, it’s the only time I can be free in a sense, or have crazy fun with friends!

I like the phrase, study hard but party harder, if only for one night at least. I don’t understand those who waste every night going to parties, it’s insane, but trying to find the right balance between fun and studying can be hard too. So as a gift to myself I’ve given friday nights, or early saturday mornings, my fun night. It’s not like I don’t have fun on other days, I frequently go to FREE EARLY PREMIERES OF MOVIES (EKK and YAY!!)

Okay enough of me justifying my partying!

Partying, I’ve now been to two BU frat parties, first the asian frat earlier in the year which I said earlier, sucked. BUT I’ve heard good things about it recently but I’m not willing to check and see for myself since it was such a bad experience in general. The newest experience I’ve had was a friend brought me to a multicultural frat, but really it was an indian frat party. Which kind of shocked me, as my previous indian friends in high school were so innocent in comparison. BUT it was a very good party, I had fun but I had to leave at about 1am because I had sleepover at my friend’s dorm due to some turtles.

But just some good words of advice to those who try to sleepover at a friend’s dorm (if they’re another student in the same college) to avoid embarrassment of having a friend check me in, you just have to go in before 2am and you’ll be in the system but the security don’t really care, unless you come in stumbling drunk like a idiot (you’ll be ambulance right away) or have the misfortune of living in a freshmen dorm (warren towers). But just to avoid some awkward stares, I just make sure I’m able to get in before 2am! Also, ask beforehand to make sure they’re okay with it!

Next up, if you want to exchange christmas gifts before you and your friends all leave for christmas, I suggest secret santa (you can use elfster). Now that you’re a presumably  poor college student you can save some money but make each person happy with a secret santa gift!

Some quick New years resolutions are:

  • Study daily, after each lecture (to retain information better)
  • lose the 10 pounds I gained in a semester (use the fitrec pass, yo!)
  • apply to all internships/volunteer/research positions available

Sorry for badgering you all with such a long post, but I hope you find the information useful! I’ll add a food post soon and also a post about a day trips to NYC, and how to plan for such!

Till next time.

Okay here are just some photo upload of food!!! NOM NOM NOM!

Bento boxes are from Fin’s Sushi and the Fried rice is from Kaguya!

Yup, I’m actually updating!

However briefly I believe I should do this before I literally die, from exhaustion and effing chemistry, we’re in a love/hate relationship, she gives me sleepless nights and in the morning even after she abuses me I still think of her. And when I finally understand her I smile, she’s my personal mystery. Pft.

But seriously I’m getting raped by chemistry, it’s mind fuckery. But I think it’s mostly me just being a retard and falling asleep.

But onwards with the blog post, like I promised last time I’m uploading photos on my room! Just a hint my side of the room is where the blue sheets are! Duh, my favorite color is blue! But it’s beautiful!
So that’s my room!

And I’ve been having a week of meeting of famous people,

The director of Harold and Kumar 3:

New heights!

Clara C!

AND FINALLY FALLLLLL ARRIVED IN BOSTON!

Alright, first off this blog might be a tad longer than usual for a few reason;

To list a few:

1. I’m at work and bored

2. I haven’t updated in a while

3. quite insulted ^

Let’s continue  the life of a freshmen female in BME living in Danielsen Hall, and going to Boston University.

Beginning with classes of course.

Chem101, I’m being raped in, I gotta study more enough said.

MA123 surprisingly I don’t have a A, have to actually study related rates.

WR100 with Professor Campbell is still awesome!

EK132 is MUCH better, taking wireless networking with linux! (excited nerd!)

and EK100 groups is just me talking to Jasmine and that’s that.

Next up, Work:

Work as an Ingalls monitor is mostly awesome, as you can tell right now, I have free time. A lot of free time apparently, enough to write a blog in fact!

I usually just do homework but today I feel a tad lazy and my hair looks good thus, I blog it on!

Alright so as a ingalls monitor, I clean, monitor, and surf the web, and sometimes camho.

For example:

Next would be Dorm life!

Danielsen Hall as some have come to truly believe is Narnia however like Narnia, after a lot of walking it’s a beautiful dorm after all, I’ll upload a full room picture later when I clean, but here are a few pictures, including the marvelous windows!

Third we have party life:

1. MIT frats are still fun, unless you’re literally the only sober person in the room. And remember to bring friends you’ll have fun with! They’ll make the night much better, and safety in numbers, also if you’re in a large female group they’ll let you in, remember the female to male ratio!

2. Dont’ binge drink.

3. Don’t lose your iphone (I did).

4. Have fun and be safe!

Next would be….FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD FOOD!

Okay so this blog was meant to be a food blog anyways, so let us begin!!! FOOD!

LOBSTER NIGHT ON MY BDAY! FREE ISH LOBSTER ( I mean I paid for the meal plan anyways…)

Okay these next few photos weren’t taken in boston HOWEVER they were in NYC…so like 4 hours away dude….!

Delicious!

Next would be the rest of the boston food ISH I’ve eaten since I’ve gotten here! :D

Okay so the last two pictures were from Rockbottom, which is like right next to Tufts which is right next to Chinatown!

Picture with me and the menu!

And This concludes my long ass Blog. I’m going to just post like every saturday instead? <3

I’m a bad blogger, in fact I didn’t keep my promise of uploading daily, instead let’s do maybe biweekly?

But I’m uploading a new blog post later today!!!

First week at Boston university and it has been pretty eventful so I footed should list the things I’ve done so far!

1. Moved into Danielsen Hall, or in the words of Jeff, Narnia. It’s literally the east end of Boston university, I have no idea why I was put there but a few things you should know about the dorm;
The view can be a hit or miss, other buildings v. Boston skyline v. Charles river
It’s next to a ka-jillion MIT frats, yeah we’re so far that MIT frat surround us!

The nearest place to eat is at Myles standish hall, but it ends with my freshmen year as they’re building a new building with eventually the biggest dining hall at BU!

The rooms are maze like but very nice!

I’m in a fairly large triple! With a walk in closet and everything, so it’s pretty satisfactory!

What I did this week:

Used my unlimited meal plan to it’s fullest!

Pros: just go in get coffee, fruits, or snacks at any time in ANY dining hall!

Cons: about $400 less dining points (to be used at the gsu) but I dot live close to central campus anyways!!

Went to two frat parties and what I’ve learned is;

MIT frats are dry for the first two weeks, but still VERY fun they have good atmosphere and music! Dancing was fun!

BU’s Asian frat party is the polar opposite, themed parties. Girls get in free before some time and guys have to pay $5.
It was just drinking, and the music an atmosphere sucked! The music literally came from a MacBook pro! And it was in a basement!

Chocolate city is AMAZING, $10 to get in and you should definitely go, I haven’t personally gone yet but I hope to soon!

Classes;

Chem101, try to get prof. Abrams, I’m going to two chem lectures at this pout my normal one and then his! He’s an awesome professor and you understand him!

Math123, borinngggggg I should’ve taken that offer to go into calc2 but hopefully now I get a high GPA

Writing100 definitely get professor Campbell!!! She’s amazing and a very interest teacher! She teaches king Arthur!

EK100 engineering, definitely go to them! Loads of free food! Nom nom nom….even with unlimited food plan I still love it!

Best dining halls:

First: west

Second/ third are Myles and Warren!

Also for jobs:

Don’t work at a dining hall, it sucks I quit after the first day!!! Hahaha!

But good news I actually got the monitor position at Ingalls which is an engineering study lounge! Looking forward to it!

Well hope to type a blog periodically! Hope you guys enjoyed!

So I’m early 40 minutes before my plane leaves because I completely forgot the buffalo international airport is really just a small airport with 26 gates… Unlike the bigger airports I’ve been to (Newark, LAX, or logan!) so I figured right now would r an awesome time to blog! Because I have like 5 readers!! But I love each and every one of you except stas right now! Because he has been AWOL for two whole days! I don’t feel the love! But yes I love going to the airport and checking in!! I got a seat in the second row!!! I have no idea if thats good or bad I don’t remember anymore but it makes me feel like an important person!
Anyways I’ll just leave you guys a photo of me in the airport!

For some odd reason I’m feeling overly anxious and excited to be going back to college, I mean yes I did go to the BU summer bridge program, but going back this time is FOR REAL, no 17 person group filled with anxious young kids, but this time thousands of freshmen, ready to take BU by storm will be there.

And I have to say I’m a bit scared and excited, excited for my new life but at the same time scared for it. I hope I don’t change much as a person I like being a Doris – so hopefully I’ll stay the same!

I’m also anxious to meet new people – MY ROOMMATES!!!!!! So excited to go meet them tomorrow, I also have some worries on the back burner, as I left some stuff with the bu bridge pals (thank you andrew and iyana if you ever read this post, I forever love you! )!

Another worry is what if I don’t meet any friends – but that worry is just me being stupid, so hopefully all goes well, I think another reason why I’m anxious is because I’m going alone this time to boston. That fact by itself is a little daunting but hopefully it’ll be okay!

I hope to blog and Danielsen Hall during my stay at BU because as a freshy going into a not so well known dorm it was FLIPPING hard to get any info on the dorm, so hopefully my blog will enlighten future freshies going to BU and then not being put in warren/west/major freshmen dorm.

But hopefully my experience will still be the same – or greater than those who go to a major dorm, who knows maybe I’ll like my smaller dorm that happens to be 15 minutes away from central campus… (probably not, but I’ll be BFFs with the BUS! ) and newbury st.!!! <3 Shopping ftw!

Lastly my worry is about my finger painting skills as I can officially only do one hand and my toe nails, hopefully I’ll improve.

P.S note to sell BUY YOUR TEXTBOOKS.
